Chance To Drive New Standards With Launch Of European Restoration Conference


The National Flood School is bringing together industry experts for the inaugural European Restoration Conference.

Under the theme of ‘Environmental Impact’ the conference takes place on the 26 and 27 September 2012, at The Belfry, Birmingham.

The event will offer a platform for keynote speakers and major European suppliers to address the most current and exciting developments and innovations within the restoration sector, including the re-launch of the new British Standard PAS 64 Mitigation and recovery of water damaged buildings – code of practice.

Among the guest speakers are the IICRC, internationally recognised as an independent standard setting certification body, which promotes high standards and ethics.

Other speakers include representatives from The Financial Ombudsman Service, Zurich Insurance, The Flood Hazard Research Centre, HR Wallingford and The Scottish Flood Forum. 

Chris Netherton, Managing Director of The National Flood School, said: “The purpose of this event is to bring together visionaries, decision makers and industry leaders to address the most current and exciting developments and innovations within the world of restoration.

“Under the subject of Environmental Impact, the conference will provide an opportunity to frame and drive standards and look at innovation, direction and impact within the industry.

“Each session will feature keynote speakers from leading organisations, together with experts from adjacent industries who are helping to define the importance of restoration.

“The event will also allow leading European suppliers to showcase the latest technology in the sector.”

Founded in 1988, the National Flood School is recognised across the UK and Europe as a leader in the research, development, testing and education of a wide-range of techniques and systems to enhance the restoration of property damaged by flood.

It shares its expertise to support and train restoration professionals and provides information and professional guidance for many other associated industries, including insurers and loss adjusters.
